Rev. Margaret Gillikin

Rev. Margaret Gillikin comes to Salida from Casper, Wyoming where she has served as the Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church for five years. She was ordained as an Elder in full connection in the Rocky Mountain Conference in 2006. While attending seminary at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois, she served Brandon United Methodist Church in Brandon, Wisconsin as their sole pastor for two years. In addition to an MDiv, Margaret also holds an MA in Applied Communication and Alternate Dispute Resolution from the University of Denver and a BA in International Relations and Voice Performance from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Margaret is a Certified Mediator in the state of Colorado.
Prior to following her call to ordained ministry, Margaret worked in student services and corporate arenas for many years in the Denver area. During that time, she volunteered extensively at Littleton UMC, primarily in drama, music and youth ministry areas. Having sung with the Colorado Symphony Chorus and Opera Colorado, Margaret is looking forward to taking advantage of choral and theatrical performance opportunities in the community. The visual arts are also a long-time passion of Margaret's; she particularly enjoys mixed media techniques that allow for exploration of texture as well as color.
Single, with no children, Margaret dearly loves her growing crop of nieces, nephews and God-children who are scattered all over the country. With Mom living in Littleton and cousins living in Lakewood and Boulder, Margaret is excited to be moving closer to family and friends.
